The EdgarMay will provide an entry-level lifeguard certification course through the Red Cross from Tuesday, August 26 to Friday, August 28, 2026. Participants will learn First Aid, CPR, and emergency response in and out of the water from a certified Red Cross instructor. Participants must be 14 years or older, pass a prerequisite swim test, and successfully complete 7-hour online coursework prior to the start of class.

Tuesday 8/25 — 12:00-5:00PM
Wednesday 8/26 — 1:00-6:30PM
Thursday 8/27 — 12:00-5:00PM
Friday 8/28 — 12:00-6:00PM
Prerequisite Swim Test:
Jump in feet first in the deep end; resurface and begin swimming 150 yards of either freestyle with good rotary breathing and face in the water or breaststroke; begin treading water with no hands for 2 minutes; then swim the final 50 yards.
Retrieve a 10-pound object from the bottom of the pool and return it to the shallow end.
