Invest in Community Health & Wellness for All
How does your support impact our community?
Dear EdgarMay Members & Friends,
Supporting the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center's Annual Campaign is essential to ensuring that this vital community resource continues to thrive and serve all individuals, regardless of financial means. Last year, the EdgarMay provided more than $51,000 in scholarship assistance, helping make membership, programs, and events accessible to everyone.
This year's campaign not only continues that tradition of financial support but also funds crucial capital projects, including new fitness flooring, replacing the carpet, and a new handicap-accessible chair lift for our lap pool. These improvements enhance the facility’s safety, inclusivity, and overall experience for all members and guests. With your important financial support, you directly help advance the center's mission of promoting health, wellness, and community connection for all.
Thank you for your support,
Christian Craig
Executive Director
2024 SCHOLARSHIP FUND ALLOCATION
In 2024, we provided $51,362 in scholarship assistance through our Access For All program, helping make memberships, Adventure Camp, swimming lessons, group fitness classes, and youth and family programming accessible to all in our community.
FIRST FINS FOR FIRST GRADERS
Since 2008, the EdgarMay has presented Springfield first graders with a gift certificate for one 4-week group swimming lesson to build their confidence in and around water, encourage a love for the sport, and to teach important basics for water safety.
CLIMB. SWIM. EXPLORE.
During the school and summer vacations, Adventure Camp provides youth with team building challenges, educational exploration, and opportunities to make lifelong friendships.
WELLNESS FOR ALL CLASSES
With our vision for “health and wellness for all”, the EdgarMay continues to offer Slow Aqua and Move to Improve beginner group classes FREE to the community.
KIDS FIT MAKES FITNESS FUN
Introduced in 2024, Kids Fit encourages youth to pursue healthy habits, movement, and activity while engaging with their peers and getting familiar with the Fitness Center. This program was made possible with the generous support of the Couch Family Foundation.
