Are you looking for an engaging, innovative activity for your family this summer? The Edgar May Health and Recreation Center invites families in our community to dive into a friendly competition with our the Family Yacht Race & Fun Night on Sunday, July 27, 2025 from 3:00 to 7:00PM.

This exciting event is open to families with children under 18. Working together over the summer, you’ll design and construct the ultimate yacht using only cardboard and duct tape. Then teams will gather on Sunday, July 27 to race their yachts across the EdgarMay’s lap pool. Prizes will be awarded for Fastest Finish, Most Creative Design, Team Spirit — and even the most spectacular sinking!

Following the races, join us for after-hours swimming, rock climbing, and a pizza party to celebrate.

Every family who enters a boat in the Yacht Race will receive a one-month Family Membership to the Edgar May Health and Recreation Center.

Check-in begins 45 minutes before race time. Yachts will be inspected for rule compliance prior to racing. Participants should come prepared to get wet and bring towels and dry clothes. Spectators are welcome!
